Taste & See!
An opportunity to whet the appetite to write, whether you’ve never tried, and wondered, or you’re already a seasoned literary gourmand looking for something new, this 2 hour session (with refreshment break) will introduce tasty bite-sized writing exercises; a smorgasbord of inspiration for starters, and who knows what may follow….
About the Teacher:
Janina Aza Karpinska achieved an M.A. Creative Writing & Personal Devlopment, with Merit, at Sussex University, shortly after which she won 1st prize in the Cannon’s Mouth Poetry Competition; was Highly Commended for both Rottingdean Writers National Poets’ Competition, and Dulwich Festival Flash Fiction Competition. As well as having taught creative writing at the Bridge Community Education Centre, Brighton, she has facilitated events at Cheltenham Literature Festival, Steyning Festival; secured funding to run a series of creative arts workshops for Threshold Women’s Mental Health Initiative, and Company Paradiso, in support of mental health; and piloted an Intergenerational Creative Arts Project for Age Concern. Client groups include children, elder folk, refugees, special needs, and employees of Brighton tax office! Her work has featured in: Poetry in the Waiting Room, Willawaw Journal; Ekphrastic Review; London Reader; Magma (#85), and The Sunshine Review, among others. She has written and performed plays, monologues and sketches for I.D. Parade, and Brighton Theatre of the Air; and produced a weekly radio show on Brighton & Hove Community Radio. Writing is a daily practice.
