Monica Bohm-Duchen is a London-based art historian. The exhibitions she has curated include Art in Exile in Great Britain 1933-1945 (1985/6); Chagall to Kitaj: Jewish Experience in 20th Century Art (1990); After Auschwitz: Responses to the Holocaust in Contemporary Art (1995), Rubies and Rebels: Jewish Female Identity in Contemporary British Art (1996/7) and Charlotte Salomon: Life? Or Theatre? (1998). Her many publications include Art and the Second World War (2013). She is the founding director of Insiders/Outsiders, an ongoing celebration of the contribution of refugees from Nazi Europe to British culture, and contributing editor of its companion volume, Insiders/Outsiders: Refugees from Nazi Europe and their Contribution to British Visual Culture (2019) and is on the editorial board of Jewish Renaissance magazine. She has acted as the curator of her mother Dorothy Bohm’s photographic archive since the late 1990s.
