Education is critical to our offering. We look forward to hosting a modern Jewish Montessori nursery centered around Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and a Jewish studies curriculum. In addition, we will offer a range of after-school clubs for primary and secondary age children plus life-long learning courses for adults.

Our nursery
We’re delighted to be teaming up with the Jewish Montessori School (JeMS) to provide our on-site nursery. Established in 1999, Hove-based JeMS has had an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating and Head Penina Efune, together with her fabulous team, bring a wealth of experience. With accolades from parents and pupils alike, JeMS are exceptional educators whose compassionate and caring staff provide nursery-age children with the perfect start in life. Our nursery will accommodate up to 30 children aged from two and a half to five years old. We will be open daily to accommodate working parents and will observe Shabbat times and the Jewish calendar of festivals.

Jewish studies curriculum
Teaching will include a combination of Montessori methods, the EYFS and a Jewish studies curriculum. We will make use of cutting-edge technology, which not only aids children’s learning, but also allows parents to remotely monitor the creative activities their kids are engaged in. Children will enjoy nutritious, healthy kosher food and access to our beautiful private garden and ample play spaces.

What is Montessori?
Developed by Italian physician Maria Montessori in the early 1900s, the Montessori method of education is based on independent activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.

After-school clubs
Our educational offer extends beyond the nursery age group. We are committed to providing daily after-school courses and clubs for primary and secondary school age groups in both Jewish and secular studies.
Children will be offered healthy kosher snacks before after-school clubs begin, and they can also make use of our outdoor spaces and leisure facilities on-site. Aligned with our ethos of revitalising the community, we hope that our after-school clubs will provide local children with an opportunity to socialize with peers from different schools.
Adult Learning
Life-long learning
As well as our vibrant cultural events program, we will also offer life-long learning opportunities for adults. Classes will run daily and will include: languages, history, religious studies, art, philosophy, physical exercise and much more.
