Something new is cooking at YOFI. This season we’re launching a series of select supper clubs, community-led Friday night dinners and Shulchan Yisraeli evenings for Hebrew speakers: small, special evenings built around great food, good company and the rhythms of the Jewish year.
Seats will be very limited, so read on to find out what’s coming and how to get first dibs.
The YOFI Supper Club
Our supper clubs are intimate, sharing-style evenings where our kitchen gets to cook the food it loves most. Each one takes its cue from the season or a moment in the Jewish calendar, from smoky autumn fire cooking to a Tu BiShvat table of figs, dates and pistachios, a Persian-inspired Purim feast and a summer garden supper.
Expect generous plates made for passing around: think honey-roasted short rib, slow-smoked brisket, charred aubergine with tahini, and puddings worth saving room for.
Community Friday Night Dinners
Alongside the supper clubs, we’re starting a series of community-led Friday night dinners. These aren’t formal or speaker-led events. They’re a warm table where people come together to share a meal, celebrate Shabbat and make real connections, whether you mark Shabbat every week or are trying it for the first time.
Guests are invited to take part: lighting candles, making Kiddush, sharing a reading or leading a conversation. Each evening will have its own character, with guest speakers, music, storytelling or a menu inspired by Jewish communities around the world.
First up: Friday Night Dinner with Yehudis Fletcher
We’re delighted to open the series on JWA Shabbat weekend, when communities across the UK support Jewish Women’s Aid’s work raising awareness of domestic abuse, with special guest Yehudis Fletcher. It promises to be a meaningful evening of food, conversation and community. Pricing and menu to be confirmed.
Shulchan Yisraeli · שולחן ישראלי
Shulchan Yisraeli (“the Israeli table”) is a new series of occasional dinners for Hebrew speakers and Israelis in Brighton: great food, conversation in Hebrew and a taste of home, away from home. Dates and menus are coming soon, and seats will be very limited.
