Inside Shoresh nursery

Grow at Shoresh

Learning and the day at Shoresh

Play, the garden, Jewish life through the week and kosher meals cooked on site: how children learn and how a day runs.

See it in a normal morning: book a visit or come to an open morning.

How children learn

Play, curiosity and a calm place to do both

Your child learns through play, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with Montessori influences. The day moves between the rooms and the garden, and children choose where to go, which most of them take very seriously.

The team plans around what each child is curious about. Children learn best through hands-on exploration, good relationships and moments of wonder, in a calm, home-from-home setting where they feel safe, seen and listened to.

  • Independence and purposeful play, from the Montessori approach.
  • Emotional wellbeing: resilience, empathy and confidence.
  • A welcome for every family, of every faith, culture and tradition.

Every week

Jewish life, every week

Shabbat is welcomed each week with songs and stories, and the festivals come round with their own food and crafts. Hebrew arrives through games and songs rather than lessons. Kindness, responsibility and saying thank you run through the whole day.

Shoresh is a Jewish-values nursery for everyone. Families of all backgrounds are welcome, and every child is invited to feel they belong.

Babies and toddlers

The Nest

The Nest is for babies and toddlers from birth to two. It sits just above the main nursery rooms, with a slower pace, smaller groups and gentle, responsive care.

Sensory-rich materials and calm routines help babies feel secure and free to explore at their own pace. Older children move on to the main nursery rooms.

Outdoors

A garden, every day

Children spend time outdoors every day in the nursery’s private garden, with nature-led activities that connect them to the world around them.

Food

Fresh kosher meals

Meals are prepared each day by the chefs in the on-site kitchen at Yofi, and all of it is kosher. Meals, snacks, nappies, wipes and sun cream are included in the fee.

Because Shoresh is a kosher setting, packed lunches cannot be brought in.
