On Friday 4 December, Chanukah and Shabbat arrive together, and Shoresh families get the best seat in the house: a Friday night dinner at Yofi. A long table, candles lit before the sun has finished setting, little hands round the challah, and a meal somebody else has cooked.
Shoresh means roots, and this is how roots grow: slowly, loudly, with crumbs.
